Honor Band 2009
Could you believe it?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009 makes history for the Lake Central Bands Proram as well as the Middle School Band Programs. On this day the middle schools, all three of them, bused in their most dedicated students of music to participate in the first ever All Area Honor Band 2009.

The students of the middle schools all played under the direction of all five of the Band Directors from the schools.

Mrs. Lopez, from Kahler Middle School, took the stage to explain that this was something that they've wanted to do for a long time and that time finally had arrived. The Middle School Students played beautifully to a packed house at the Lake Central Auditorium. Mrs. Lopez, Mr. Schultz, Mr. Gore, Mr. Nelson and Mr. Harmon all directed a piece for the students to play. The crowd loved every piece and gave the students a huge ovation when the last note was hit.

All of us within the Lake Central Band Family would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to the students of all three middle schools selected to be part of the first ever All Area Honor Band!

What added excitement to the morning was the fact that the Lake Central Wind Ensemble took the stage after the Honor Band to play two pieces from their upcoming ISSMA competition.

This fine group of musicians all came from either Kahler or Grimmer and have progressed to the top ensemble in the High School Program.

By the time thier second piece was finished they had the crowd on their feet in a huge standing ovation! Comments as the crowd was exiting the auditorium went from AWESOME! to UNBELIEVABLE!

The Lake Central Band Family would like to thank the Wind Ensemble for coming out and entertaining us and we'd also like to extend best wishes as they embark on the ISSMA run.
