Startup:
Once you have ordered the Smart Music program, you may set up your IMPACT account online at
www.smartmusic.com/impact.
This account will allow you to access your grade book and view your assignments.
Each Student must enroll in the class to be eligible to receive assignments from Mrs. Lopez. Simply open Smart Music and choose assignment. Follow the prompts on the page to enroll for the class. Once Mrs. Lopez has confirmed your enrollment, you will begin receiving assignments.
Microphone Setup:
Once you have inserted your microphone into the correct port on your computer, be sure to test
it with your instrument. *Use Help, then Microphone Placement if you are unsure where to place
your microphone.
Tools:
Tuner- The tuner displays the note YOUR instrument plays.
Metronome- Can be adjusted to fit your changing performance level
Exercises- Allows you to play scales or practice ear training.
Method books- Allows you to play exercises from Essential Elements
Assessment- Grades you performance and shows you correct or incorrect pitches and rhythms.
Symbols and Terms- A musical dictionary to help you understand unfamiliar symbols.
Playback Modes:
As a soloist you are able to hear the solo line alone or with accompaniment or just the
accompaniment.
Submitting an assignment:
You must be online to submit an assignment to Mrs. Lopez.
Each assignment has a due date. Once the due date has passed, assignments will be displayed in RED. They can still be submitted but they will be considered late. You may practice your selection as many times as you like before you submit it but once the assignment has been submitted, you may not resubmit. Make certain that you are satisfied with your performance before you submit it to Mrs. Lopez.
